- Help with housekeeping and laundry while you recover
Before discharge
If you can, call us before the discharge date. Ask the hospital team what you'll need help with, what equipment is recommended and whether Fraser Health home support has been arranged. We can fill in the hours public services don't cover.
Serving local hospitals
We help families coming home from hospitals across the valley, including Abbotsford Regional Hospital, Chilliwack General Hospital, Mission Memorial Hospital, Langley Memorial Hospital and Ridge Meadows Hospital.
We provide non-medical home support. We don't provide nursing care, wound care, injections or medication administration. If you need those, your doctor or Fraser Health Home and Community Care can arrange them, and we can work alongside that care.
Common questions
How long does post-surgery care usually last?
Anywhere from a few days to several weeks. We start with what's needed and reduce visits as you get stronger.
Can you help after a hip or knee replacement?
Yes. We help with daily tasks, meals, safe movement and rides. Your physiotherapist or surgeon directs your exercises and any restrictions.
Do you change dressings?
No. Wound care is nursing care, which we don't provide. Ask your hospital team to arrange it through Fraser Health if you need it.
