WorkSafeBC and WCB are the same thing
Many people in BC still say "WCB." The Workers' Compensation Board of B.C. operates as WorkSafeBC, so you may see either name on your paperwork.
WorkSafeBC services we offer
- Personal care after a work injury: washing, dressing, mobility and regaining your routine
- Housekeeping and home maintenance help: chores and meals at home
- Rides and appointment support: getting to treatment and appointments
How coverage works
WorkSafeBC says its Home Care Services are for people with complex work injuries who have a medical and functional need for assistance. These services take place at home or in the community to help build or regain self-care skills and independence. WorkSafeBC also has an Independence and Home Maintenance Allowance. Your case manager can tell you what you may qualify for.
How to get started
- Report your injury to WorkSafeBC and get your claim number.
- Talk to your case manager about what you can't do at home because of your injury.
- Call us at 604-343-8830 with your claim details and the help you need.
- Confirm approval before care begins, including the services, hours and dates.
- Start care at home. Direct billing to WorkSafeBC is available for authorized care. We'll document visits and let your case manager know how things are going when appropriate.
Paying privately for extra help
If you need more than your claim covers, or you're waiting on a decision, you can arrange private hours with us. We'll keep private and claim-funded services clearly separate.
Right Move Home Care is an independent private business and isn't part of WorkSafeBC. WorkSafeBC decides what's covered on each claim, so confirm with your case manager before services start.
