WorkSafeBC's Independence and Home Maintenance Allowance
WorkSafeBC has a practice directive covering this allowance. Whether you qualify and how much you get are up to WorkSafeBC, so ask your case manager. WorkSafeBC also notes that its Home Care Services aren't meant for workers whose need is homemaking, so make sure you ask which program applies to you.
If it isn't covered
You can book housekeeping and meal help privately, for as long or as short as you need. Ask us for a quote.
Right Move Home Care is an independent private business and isn't part of WorkSafeBC. WorkSafeBC decides what's covered on each claim, so confirm with your case manager before services start.
Common questions
Does WorkSafeBC pay for housekeeping?
It depends on your injury and claim. Ask your case manager about the Independence and Home Maintenance Allowance and any other options.
Can you help for just a few weeks?
Yes. Short-term help is fine, and you can change or stop the schedule as you recover.
