ICBC benefits for severe injuries
ICBC lists personal care assistance among the benefits for severe, permanent and catastrophic injuries, and sets higher monthly limits for catastrophic injuries, including where 24-hour care is needed. Ask your specialist how these apply to you. Current limits are in ICBC's guide.
Working with your team
Medical treatment and rehab decisions stay with your clinicians. We follow their instructions on daily routines and pass along what we see at home. Before we start, we'll review equipment such as lifts or commodes to make sure we can provide care safely.
We provide non-medical home support. We don't provide nursing care, wound care, injections or medication administration. If you need those, your doctor or Fraser Health Home and Community Care can arrange them, and we can work alongside that care.
Right Move Home Care is an independent private business and isn't part of ICBC. ICBC decides what's covered on each claim. We can't promise coverage, so confirm with your ICBC support and recovery specialist before services start.
Common questions
Can you start care before hospital discharge?
We can start planning before discharge. Ask the hospital team and your ICBC specialist to involve us early.
Can the same caregivers stay with us long term?
We try to keep the team consistent, because trust and routine matter so much after a serious injury.
